My game reccomendation to you

(RUST)Pros: you can run around naked, you can kill and eat other players, you can build anywhere.

Cons: all of the above, you can be imprisoned by other players.

It's a fun game.

Every one I know that plays it has thousands of hours. You have to worry about raids majority are apparently MnK on console? Seems very stressful and not very fun. But clearly has a dedicated player base

You just got to not take it that earnestly, otherwise, you will find yourself getting pretty upset/exasperated at times. Just play for fun. I conventionally play on modded because I am solo and cannot bother farming so much in vanilla to keep up with groups. The main thing is to do whatever you want to make it fun - I would say by experimenting with what type of servers you like to play on. You will find yourself dedicating a plethora of time to the game if you are not playing modded, by the way.
