Is 32GB RAM worth it?

of course it is, or go with 64 if you got more money

Imo now 32 gigs are just enough, you run a game, some apps in background, chrome and you have 24+gigs eaten.

That's a bit hyperbolic. Your system shouldn't be that bloated.

You shouldn't need to leave other programs open if you're running a game. Maybe a browser with a few tabs open. Other than that, you should have everything else saved and closed. That will help with FPS, temperatures, and your memory usage.

But I can say with confidence that 32GB is a good investment. You'll never run into problems unless you carelessly leave multiple programs open at once, and you're future proofing.

With the way software is heading, especially rampant RAM use for Chromium based programs, getting 2x 16GB is absolutely a wise investment. DDR5 is going to be stupid expensive for a while, but 3200MHz DDR4 RAM is going to be more than enough to future proof most devices for the next 3-5 years
