Kaspersky is another reason I love my job. There have been times where a computer comes in and its "not working".
In reality, Kaspersky has brought the machine down to a grinding halt. All i have to do is boot into a live environment and delete all traces of it.

It seems AV protection is a see-saw of performance and security. many time too much security is just redundant.
With that being said Kaspersky is probably the best AV out there, but that is like saying one it's the best bolt for your front door when the criminals are using the side door or garage.

Kaspersky is very good but annoying so I tend to disable it when I used to use it. Also the anti-DDoS I have tested sucks, and also sometimes automatically shut my internet due to the failure block thing

Personally I prefer Avast w/ Malwarebytes.

Just to bump this thread, since I renewed my license for 3 years (great pricing).

I've found the anti-ddos to help a bit. But if it's a decent attack it falls :p

More like anti DOS imo.

Going to get some new AV soon, and I'm choosing between Avira and Kapersky. Which one is better?

Avira is a great AV considering it's free, but paid Kaspersky is better undoubtably. KS stays on top of their updates, doing one every hour I believe. The firewall on KS is amazing, which Avira's isn't all that great.
Only thing I dislike about Avira is that it provides more false positives then most other AVs, but safe>sorry I guess.

I don't use any antivirus software. I don't see much of a point for most of it.

ATM I also don't use any AV software. I just use manual scanning for the mostpart.
