Which Anti-Virus Do You Use?

#1
Me personally, I love Avira. I don't really do much with malicious files from 3rd party sites anyway and I haven't touched any hacking tools in years, but this anti-virus has always been my go to. Been using Avira on all my computers since late 2007 and never had a problem. I lately also run Malwarebytes on top of Avira. I will use TDSSKiller for those experiencing actual malware threats. I also have been giving Avast a shot since the guys I work with use it.

How about you guys? Share your experiences.

I really have no need for an AV anymore. Having done extensive research on malware and being semi-ASAP/UNITE qualified, you start to gain an understanding of how malware is transmitted and what to avoid. And people are like, well, you can never be 100% safe. And for a large part, that's true: every once in a while someone will come up with a brand spanking new JDB and we'll all get fucked. In that case an AV ain't going to save you anyway.

The only people I'd recommend using an AV are those guys who download shit from HF (warez, hacks, tools, etc). For everyone else, it's just common sense.

Oh and the thing that pisses me off most is the 'average joe' who knows nothing about computers who refuse to follow a link you send them because they don't trust you. They think you're trying to give them a virus. And people who think you can get viruses from porn sites. Lol, wtf? Sites like Pornhub and RedTube are just as safe as sites like Google and YouTube.

It depends on the link. I won't click on a shortened URL until I preview it first. Other than that, I'll google sketchy links.

I'd assume most of the viruses from porn sites are from the lesser-known ones. People tend to be unaware and click on advertisements. Also, I'm pretty sure that some videos may contain viruses if you download them instead of simply streaming it. But, I guess that's rare too.

I use Kaspersky and it pisses me off. I fucking hate my laptop right now. Everything's fucked up. Windows 8 is starting to piss me off.

Malware Bytes, oh yeah.

They're probably the best, and they're free.

I've never been infected, so far.. Anyway.
