World’s first USB-C iPhone

For the small, reasonable sum of $86,001, you could have had the World’s first USB-C iPhone. A robotic engineering student created this USB-C iPhone, but has seriously advised that the buyer does not update the OS or use it as their everyday phone (who would use a phone worth $86k as an everyday device?!).

Moved from The Lounge forum to Mobile & Tablets.

Such a price tag. It'd be a shame to accidently drop It In the toilet bowl.

earlier in the year, the EU said they were looking into making all phone producers to use type-C for their plugs in attempt to cut down on E-waste. But I wouldn't spend that type of money to get a type-C on my iPhone... I'd just buy an Android.

I think it's more just a collectors/novelty purchase. I wonder what the value of that thing would be in ten years? Either worth nothing or a lot xD

It would be good for iPhone to go with the USB-C (assuming it's of a good enough standard to compete with the lightening cable), then I'd not have to listen to people in the office asking to borrow a charger and it never being the right type.

Irrespective of their nature, phones don't seem to hold their value In the space of a decade.

I could be wrong, but I believe It will decline.

I think you're quite right. iPhone switching to USB-C is unlikely to be something that's remembered or thought about much long term. I could be wrong.
